August 2 Featuring New Souls (Funk/R&B/90s Hip Hop)
The Urbana Park District loves our neighbors so much, we bring a great concert to 11 different neighborhoods each summer. Live, local music is the hallmark of these events. Each park features a different local band, all playing the very best music from blues to 80s hits to jazz and bluegrass. Bring your lawn chair or even a picnic dinner and spend the evening with us.
Each Neighborhood Night features:
- The very best local musicians
- Free popcorn and lemonade
- Fun activities
- Meet City of Urbana officials and talk to them about your neighborhood
Nature Play at Neighborhood Nights
Discover nature right outside your door. Can you identify the critters you see in your local park? Join the Neighborhood Nights Naturalist for some fun playing with nature’s “loose parts” and be entered to win prizes.
Thanks to our sponsors: US 105.9FM, chambanamoms.com, First Federal, The Urbana Parks Foundation, CUMTD and Urbana Rotary.
AFTER THE CONCERT:
Join the Urbana Park District for a special Neighborhood Nights movie! Directly following the Neighborhood Nights concert by 90s Hip-Hop & Neo Soul band New Souls, we are excited to have a FREE showing of 2016’s animated “The Wild Life”. We’ll have free popcorn and lemonade and the big blow-up movie screen for your summer enjoyment. In this rollicking adventure, a daring parrot recounts how Robinson Crusoe came to be stranded on a tropical island. The movie is 90 minutes long.
