Calling all young animal lovers! The Champaign County Humane Society invites you to experience a week filled with pet-related games, lessons and crafts. Enjoy daily interactions with “animal ambassadors” and learn about their care in a fun and safe manner. Meet visitors from the community who work to help animals every day. The week will end with an experience at the Champaign County Humane Society! Snacks and beverages will be provided. Note: Campers ages 6-8 meet in the morning, ages 9-12 meet in the afternoon.

Summer Arts Camp (details)Budding artists focus on the visual and performing arts: painting, sketching, collage, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, and playwriting to name just a few. Each camper will learn new art terms and techniques and will gain valuable friendships at the same time! Drop off begins at 7:30am with official activities beginning at approximately 8:30-9am. Be sure to dress for mess. Campers will ride MTD buses for field trips, have open play time at the Phillips Recreation Center playground and swim up to twice a week at the Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center. Bring a lunch, morning snack and drink daily. Each camper receives an Arts Camp T-shirt. Session theme is photography.

Possible projects include cleaning up the building and socializing with animals at the Humane Society, creating gift baskets for homeless shelters, and preparing meals for soup kitchens. Be part of it. Please bring a sack lunch, snack, and drink each day.

World Cultures Camp (details)Celebrate the end of summer with us and explore cultures from all over the world. We will take fun field trips, engage in crafts and activities, and play games from other cultures. This is your last hurrah! Encourage your friends to register, too, and make the most of your last week off. All movies will be G or PG. Parents Note: Campers must bring a morning snack, lunch, beverage, and swimming gear daily.
