A $10,000 from the American Water Charitable Foundation will make it easier for people to launch kayaks and be closer to the water.

The Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program grant helped build limestone outcroppings and a gravel kayak launch.

“Previously there was no easy way for a visitor to get a kayak in and out of the lake. It was also difficult to get down to the water’s edge, but the limestone outcropping will help with access to the water for fishing or just relaxing,” said Kara Dudek, Park Planner.

People can keep up to date with the Crystal Lake Park Rehabilitation Project online at urbanaparks.org.

“The park and all park amenities are available for everyone from dawn to dusk,” Dudek said.
