To celebrate the Anita Purves Nature Center’s 40th Anniversary, the nature center is hosting an artist reunion show starting September 7 and running through December 27.

The 40th Anniversary Artist Reunion Show: Embracing Nature and the Environment as Inspiration for Art, displays photographs and paintings that focus on nature. The featured artists have shown their works at the nature center since 1996.

Anita Purves Nature Center will host an opening reception for the art show on Saturday, September 7 from 1 – 3 p.m. The reception is free and open for all ages.

“We feature artists who offer their original perspectives on nature and the world around us,” said Judy Miller, Environmental Program Manager.

She added, “We give special attention to artists who draw inspiration from local parks and natural areas.”

“The show provides an opportunity for the nature center to appeal to new audiences of young artists, collectors of art and people who enjoy art and the environment,” Miller explained.

Everyone is welcome to view the works of art at the nature center all fall.

“Nature presents a beautiful canvas for artists,” Miller said. “We invite everyone to the nature center this fall to view these beautiful works.”
