We all know that sometimes you can miss the forest for the trees, but what about missing the sporophyte for the forest? Or the mantis for the field? Or the daphnia for the pond? In this show, we will explore some of the easily overlooked aspects of nature on its own scale—where the tiniest spider is a terrifying predator, wildflowers are complex lures, and butterfly wings and feathers are marvels of engineering.

This show will feature areas and materials that can be found in and around the Urbana Park District, focusing on Meadowbrook Park, Busey Woods and the Anita Purves Nature Center. Like a picture? Just ask and we can tell you where and when it was taken - maybe you’ll even be able to capture a keeper of your own!
