The public is invited to view Save the Birds, Save the EarthDrawings by Lynn Hawkinson Smith, this Winter and Spring at Anita Purves Nature Center

The art will be on display at the nature center during open hours from February 5 – April 24. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will not be an artist reception.

Artist Lynn Hawkinson Smith commented,

“My work shows, up close, the beauty of the birds around us. Everyone sees birds, but they can’t get close enough to look them in the eye; to see thevariety of patterns, colors, and textures in their feathers; to see the individual. After you know a bird, you care about it. You care that it lives the way it should. You care that it has clean air, clean water, good food, and a safe home. When you love birds, you save birds. When you save birds, you save all of us, because we need the same things.”

Be sure to check out Hawkinson Smith’s work starting February 5 at the nature center.
