Start with a presentation on native Illinois owls, then head outside to listen for their calls. After the hike, meet the Anita Purves Nature Center’s resident screech owl and warm up with hot cocoa.
Come prepared for wet/cold/slippery conditions. Participants may hike on soft, uneven surfaces. Pending weather conditions, this program may be rescheduled. Fees for this program go toward caretaking
costs of our wildlife education ambassadors.
Hip-Hoot-Hooray! It's Our Owl's Birthday!
Lightning, our Eastern Screech Owl, is turning 6 years old! Join us for an evening celebrating owls through art, photos, interactive info stations, and stay through the end to watch Lightning be offered some birthday treats. There will be a livestream for his birthday cake, so join us online if you can't make it in person! This is a free event, but registration is required to ensure there are enough materials. Register by April 29.
