Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center opens to a successful weekend

The Urbana Park District outdoor pool, the Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center is off to another exciting season. The pool opened Memorial Day weekend and over 1200 people enjoyed the warm swimming weather.

"We are glad to serve the public for another summer," said Leslie Radice, Aquatics Manager. "The pool will be open, weather permitting, from now through Labor Day Monday."

Starting Friday, the pool will open weekdays for members at Noon, for non-members at 12:30 p.m., and operate until 8 p.m. "Lap swim will run from 6-8 a.m., and from 11 a.m., until Noon," Radice added.

Weekend hours will be from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., with lap swim lanes available during open swim hours.

It costs $6 for residents to get into the pool, kids under age 4 are free. Admission is $9 for non-residents. "We will have non-resident days at the pool on June 8 and 19, July 6 and 17, and August 3, August 14 and August 31, where non-residents can pay resident admission rates," she added.

People can also purchase summer pool memberships, or purchase punch card passes at the pool.

"Every one belongs at Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center, and we welcome everyone to come have fun and cool off at the pool this summer," Radice concluded.
