Discover that Earth Day is for everyone on April 23 at Meadowbrook Park

Celebrate Earth Day 2022 at Meadowbrook Park in Urbana on April 23, with Earth Day for Everyone. (The rain date is April 24.)

From 1 - 4 p.m., learn how to live clean and green, and enjoy the following activities:

  •     Get a bike checkup with Champaign County Bikes
  •     Create nature art with Ascend Art 360
  •     Fly a kite (Free kids' kites while supplies last!)
  •     Plant milkweed for monarchs with Sierra Club Illinois’ Prairie Group
  •     Check out organic gardening with Solidarity Gardens CU
  •     Explore wetlands with the INHS Wetland Science group
  •     Learn about energy options with Faith in Place
  •     Search for insects with the Champaign County Forest Preserve District

Piato Food Truck will be at the park. The park district will provide guided hikes through the park and people can enjoy live music all afternoon. 

People can park at Stone Creek Church, but we encourage you to walk, bike or take the bus!

"Urbana Park District is committed to providing Earth-friendly activities and choices in our community," said Savannah Donovan, Environmental Program Manager. "We are excited to offer an Earth Day celebration throughout beautiful Meadowbrook Park with lots of unique opportunities to learn about and enjoy nature, and even get your hands working in the soil if you want!"
