The Urbana Park District is inviting kids ages 7-11 to sign up for a virtual Spanish class, taught on Zoom.

The class begins November 2, and runs each Monday (except November 23) through December 14, 2020. The Zoom class begins at 5:30 p.m., and runs through 6:15.

“This is a beginner level Spanish class for kids interested in learning a new language or would like to advance the skills they already have,” explained Niki Hoesman, Community Program Coordinator at the park district.

Urbana Park District has partnered with Language in Action, LLC., to teach the course.

It costs $10 to register a student. Register online or call the park district at (217) 367-1544 to sign up.

The deadline to register is October 30.

“I hope our kids can learn about cultures different from their own and learn language skills that they can use for the rest of their lives,” Hoesman said.
