Enjoy storytelling at Anita Purves Nature Center March 9

The Anita Purves Nature Center, in celebration of its 40th anniversary, is bringing back the Big Grove Storytelling Festival, Saturday, March 9, from 1-4 p.m., at the Nature Center.

It’s free admission to the festival. Parents must accompany all kids under age 15.

“We have four very talented story tellers who are going to tell some great tales,” said Judy Miller, Environmental Program Manager. “We are excited and grateful that they are sharing their talents with us again.”

The Big Grove Storytelling Festival was a hit in 2001 and Miller brought it back this year to celebrate the Anita Purves Nature Center’s 40th birthday.

The story tellers are:

  • Kim Sheahan
  • Kath Brinkmann
  • Kim Petzing Lehman
  • Dan Keding

“These story tellers have entertained us at the Nature Center over the years,” Miller said.

The day includes concessions and crafts and contests during the afternoon on March 9.

“People belong at the Nature Center all year during our 40th anniversary celebration and March 9th, promises to be a fun day for the whole family,” Miller said.
