Urbana Park District is inviting the public to the free, 15th annual Jazz Walk at Meadowbrook Park, this Friday, September 13, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

“People can take a walk through the Wandell Sculpture Garden and listen to live jazz music by artists stationed along the path,” said Janet Soesbe, Community Program Manager. “This is a unique, beautiful event.”

The walk features all local musicians.

“The artists will play the entire time and people can walk at their own pace and listen to as many artists as they like,” Soesbe explained.

People can park at the Race Street entrance of the Park, or at Stone Creek Church at the corner of Race Street and Windsor Road. Clark Lindsey, Urbana Park District and the Urbana Parks Foundation are partnering bring the event to Meadowbrook Park.

“It doesn’t cost anything to attend,” Soesbe said. “But, people can stop by our information table to make a donation towards the musicians.”

This is a great chance to support local music. “This is such a fun event,” Soesbe commented. “We hope to see many people at Meadowbrook Park September 13, to hear some great jazz.”
