Anita Purves Nature Center invites the public to a free moon walk through Busey Woods the evening of September 19, from 7 – 8:30.
Staff will lead a guided hike on the forest paths as the full moon is rising. They hope the moonlight will be the only light hikers need.
The walk is for all ages. Adults must accompany kids under age 15.
It’s a great evening to learn about nocturnal creatures. Staff will be able to help people listen for owls and other animals that come out at night. Hikers will also have the chance to just enjoy the beauty of nature at night.
The Anita Purves Nature Center hopes to welcome many people to the event this coming Thursday evening.
