You can help clean our natural areas this fall, and scatter seed to promote future beauty.

Each Wednesday, people can volunteer at a workday at one of the park district's natural areas:

  • Perkins Road Wetland
  • Meadowbrook Park
  • Weaver Park
  • Busey Woods

People can help clean up those areas, remove invasive plants, and scatter seed so natural, beautiful plants will sprout next year in the natural areas.

Matt Balk, Natural Areas Coordinator, heads up the work days. He explains more in a video.

To get on a mailing list for Wednesday Workdays, email Balk at mjbalk@urbanaparks.org.  Or call Anita Purves Nature Center at (217) 384-4062.

Help keep park district natural areas beautiful and scatter the seeds for next year's beauty!
