If you happen to visit the Anita Purves Nature Center, be sure to stop by the owl display and meet Lightning, the newest rescue owl.

Lightning is a red-phase Eastern Screech Owl. The nature center takes in owls that were injured in the wild, are rehabilitated, but cannot return to the wild to fend for themselves. People can visit Lightning and his companions at the nature center, and the owls are available to visit classes or other events so people can learn about owls.
