Kids can learn how to make videos this winter in the Kids YouTube Club. It’s a free after-school club put on by Urbana Park District, via a virtual Zoom meeting.

The free club is every Tuesday from January 26 – March 3, from 4 – 5 p.m. Kids will get a Zoom link when they sign up.

“We are hoping to have fun making cool videos that we can share with our friends and families,” said Niki Hoesman, Community Program Coordinator.

The program is geared to kids ages 8 – 12. In addition to learning how to make videos, Hoesman hopes kids learn different things. “I hope that kids can gain self-confidence and find a way to showcase their skills,” she added.

While the club is free, the park district needs kids to sign up. The park district will deliver any supplies to the kids.

Call (217) 367-1544 to sign kids up, or register online.

“Any child is able to register for the program. It is important to know that we have a reciprocal agreement with Champaign Park District so if you are a member of that district, you receive resident rates with us at the UPD,” Hoesman explained.

She concluded, “All kids are welcome to sign up. We’re excited to put on this fun club.”
