If parents or guardians are looking for an activity for their kids over the winter break, they can sign them up for Aquatics Camp, held over the Urbana School District winter break.

The camp runs weekdays from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., beginning December 20 through January 3 (no camp Christmas Day or New Year’s Day).

The camp is at Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center (UIAC), and is for kids ages 6 – 12.

“Kids love to swim during the winter. There is something special about swimming while looking outside at winter weather,” said Leslie Radice, Aquatics Manager.

“Kids can make crafts and play fun games. We’ll show some movies – all rated PG or G,” Radice added. “Kids should bring a lunch and drink each day. We’ll provide a snack.”

It costs $38 per day for residents and $57 per day for non-residents if they register before December 6.

After December 6, it will cost $44 for residents and $66 for non-residents.

“Parents or guardians can register their kids for one day or for all days,” Radice said.

Radice hopes everyone enjoys the holidays and kids enjoy swimming at UIAC. “Our camp is open to everyone ages 6 -12. We hope to see them at the pool,” Radice concluded.
