We’ve all faced it – yet another night of trying to decide what to cook for dinner.

Well, you can cook along with an expert chef in a special Zoom cooking class, geared for people ages 16 and up on October 14, from 6 – 8 p.m.

The class is Southern Inspired Cooking – Meal for Two. People can view the class on Zoom.

The menu for the night is:

  • Pan seared salmon/roasted chicken
  • Yukon gold smashed potatoes
  • Fresh green bean/cherry tomato salad
  • C&C kitchen seasoning

Niki Hoesman, Community Program Coordinator, says the park district will deliver the ingredients to the door for each person who signs up.

“They can then cook alongside the chef in their own homes,” Hoesman explained.

Students can also interact with the instructor chef. “Another chef will be there to assist the main chef that is cooking. The other chef will give details about what is happening and facilitate conversation and question and answer time,” Hoesman said.

It costs $40 to register each student, plus a $5 ingredient delivery fee.

Call (217) 367-1544 to register, or they can register online at urbanaparks.org.

“Everyone can learn to cook, so be sure to sign up for our virtual class,” Hoesman concluded.
