Beware of ticks in our parks

Urbana Park District has received reports of pets getting ticks while in our parks. Please be "tick aware" when visiting our parks.

Park district staff have put up additional signage warning about tick dangers. One of the biggest ways to prevent getting ticks is to stay on the pathways in the parks and natural areas and do not go off into the brush and other tall grasses.

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District has more information about ticks

Be sure to check yourself and your pets for ticks after visiting our parks or natural areas. More information and tips are in the graphic below.
