It is open! The boats are in the water. Starting today, The Lake House in Crystal Lake Park will offer canoe, kayak and paddle boat rentals.
Until May 25, the Lake House will be open Saturday and Sunday from Noon - 7 p.m.
From May 29 - August 10, the Lake House will be open Thursday - Sunday from Noon - 7 p.m.
Then August 16 - 30 the Lake House will be open Saturday and Sunday from Noon - 7 p.m. And the Lake House will be open Memorial Day and Labor Day (the last day of the season).
Here are the 2025 boat rental fees:
- Kayaks - $11/half hour or $13/hour
- Canoes - $12/half hour or $14/hour
- 2-person paddle boat - $12/half hour or $16/hour
- 3-person paddle boat - $13/half hour or $17/hour
- 4-person paddle boat - $14/half hour or $18/hour
The park district accepts all major credit cards, cash or check (with valid ID) as payment. Fees include Coast Guard-approved life jackets with sizes ranging from infant to adult. An adult must accompany anyone under 16. A valid driver's license or major credit card is required as a deposit on all rentals.
