A fun spring and summer activity returns to The Lake House in Crystal Lake Park on May 2. Starting on Saturday, people can rent paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes for an hour or half hour.
From May 2 - 24, people can rent boats Saturday and Sunday from 12 - 7 p.m.
From May 28 - August 9 people can rent boats Thursday - Sunday from 12 - 7 p.m.
Then from August 15 - September 6 people can go for a boat ride Saturday and Sunday from 12 - 7 p.m.
The 2026 boat rental fees are:
- Kayaks: $11/half-hour or $13/hour
- Canoes: $12/half-hour or $14/hour
- 2-person Paddle Boats: $12/half-hour or $16/hour
- 3-person Paddle Boats: $13/half-hour or $17/hour
- 4-person Paddle Boats: $14/half-hour or $18/hour
The park district accepts all major credit cards, cash or check (with valid ID) as payment. Fees include Coast Guard-approved life jackets with sizes ranging from infant to adult. An adult must accompany anyone under 16. A valid driver's license or major credit card is required as a deposit on all rentals.
