Everyone is invited to the annual Central Illinois Bat Festival, September 26. The theme for this year's festival is "Backyard Bats & Bugs."
Bats are an amazing species. While some may think bats are scary, they are very important. Bats eat bugs and keep nature in balance.
On September 26, come to Anita Purves Nature Center for fun bat activities from 1 - 4 p.m. Then from 5:30 - 8 p.m., come to Crystal Lake Park, and we'll go looking for bats!
Biologists, educators, and experts will teach you all about bats and the bugs they eat. We'll have activities for all ages. People can learn how to conserve bats and enjoy an evening of learning about this amazing animal.
