It's been open for a few months, but the public came out in force to celebrate PrairiePlay - the new and accessible playground at Meadowbrook Park, on Saturday.
The park district was honored to have "Ms. Wheelchair USA" RaeAnne Lindsay, cut the ribbon to officially dedicate the park.
In 2024, the park district dismantled the wooden playground which had outlived its safe use and began developing a playground that could host everyone of all abilities.
The playground was completed in late 2024, and the park district celebrated the finished product on May 3.
