The Urbana Park District and the Champaign County Camera Club received 341 entries from 101 different photographers for the 25th Annual Best in Show Photographic Print Competition this year. This competition was created in 2002 when Camera Club member Hiram Paley approached the Urbana Park District to partner on a print competition and since then, we have received 10,758 photos!
This year’s varied and interesting photos taken by local amateur photographers will be on display at Lincoln Square in downtown Urbana from Saturday, February 7 through Noon on Sunday, February 22. The winners will receive prizes of cash or gift certificates from sponsors in addition to ribbons. Congratulations to them all! Be sure to visit Lincoln Square and they’ll add a breath of fresh air and a pop of color to your February!
We will be holding a judges’ critique at 1 p.m., on Sunday, February 22nd at Lincoln Square. Attendees will hear from this year’s judges Jodi Adams, Holly Birch, and Craig McMonigal about the photos and to learn what makes a winning image.
Pick-up of all prints directly follows and goes until 4pm.
