Help more classrooms learn about nature

The Anita Purves Nature Center hosts several class field trips each year and helps teach kids about nature, plants and animals. Individuals, organizations and businesses can donate to help more Urbana School District #116 classes to go on a field trip to the nature center.

The program is called Connecting Classes with Nature. It costs $42 for a class to attend a nature center program. It costs $145 to transport the class from their school to Anita Purves Nature Center. A full sponsorship costs $187. Individuals, organizations and businesses can underwrite part of or an entire field trip for one or more classes.

A typical field trip size is a class of 20 - 30 students. Over 200 students were able to take field trips in 2022-23 thanks to this program.
