6/16/26
It's a big step for kids to start spending time at home by themselves. Urbana Park District wants to get those kids started off on the right path and learn to be "Safe@Home."
"Safe@Home" is designed for people ages 9 - 13 who have expressed an interest in staying home. Participants learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. They will also learn about the first aid chart so they can appropriately respond in injuries and illness.
The next class is August 6, from 5 - 6:30 p.m., at Phillips Recreation Center. Register by July 23, for an Early Bird discount - $12 for residents and $19 for non-residents.
Call (217) 367-1544 for more information, or email Katie at kmbickers@urbanaparks.org. Call to register or sign up at the link below.
