Meadowbrook Park has a remarkable history. How did this a corn field in southeastern Urbana become a beloved regional park?
Local author and former Urbana Park District Board Commissioner, Roger Diggs, has written Meadowbrook: A History, and is going to host a walking tour of the famous park.
The Meadowbrook Park tour is September 19 from 10 a.m. - Noon. Meet at the Race Street entrance for the historic tour. The walking tour will be approximately two miles long with accessible paved paths.
Digges will lead the tour and describe the park's rich history.
