Urbana Park District workers will conduct a controlled burn tomorrow at three parks.
Controlled burns are used to remove old, dead materials. Once burned away, this will allow more new growth to happen. These burns allow for healthy natural areas.
The burns will happen February 25 at:
- 9 a.m. - Meadowbrook Park sculpture loop
- 11 a.m. - Crystal Lake Park rain garden on fairgrounds property
- 1 p.m. - AMBUCS Park
- 1 p.m. - South Ridge Park
UPDATE: Due to shifting winds, workers will not burn at AMBUCS Park on the 25th but will burn at South Ridge Park.
