Urbana Park Distict is offering several free activities and events for people age 50 and better this fall. All offerings will be at Phillips Recreation Center.
Once a month, people can come to the Phillips Recreation Center for the free Senior Creative Connestions with Family Service. People age 50 and better can find a supportive atmosphere and a change for people to tell stories and express themselves creatively. Senior Creative Connections will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., on:

- November 8
- December 13
Engaging creatively can lift self esteem, spark personal growth and promote healing. No creative experience or skill necessary. Bring a snack or bag lunch and enjoy the time together.
On select Wednesdays, people age 60 and better are invited to the Wits Workout with CRIS Healthy Aging. The event is from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m., on:
- October 16
- November 20
- December 18
Each session has a theme for discussion about brain health - such as exercise, diet and sleep.
There will also be a time for puzzles and other intellectual challenges. Get to know the group you're playing with and spend some time getting to know new friends!
This is free, but registration is required to we know how many to expect.

This monthly group will explore creative expression through writing, visual art, rhythm, movement, drama, guided meditation and more with the goal of connecting more deeply with others, with yourself, and with your inner creativity. Engaging creatively can relieve stress, lift your self-esteem, spark deep personal growth, and promote healing. Create for the joy of the process rather than for the end product.
