The Boneyard Arts Festival runs April 12 - 14, 2024 with several art displays and workshops around Champaign-Urbana.
Urbana Park District has some special exhibits and workshops. On April 12, Phillips Recreation Center will host photographer Tyson Kruse's display Nature in (Mostly) Macro. The show focuses on small things in nature that are easily overlooked. Meet Kruse on April 12 from 5 - 5:45 p.m. Then from 5:45 - 6:30 p.m., Kruse will hold a workshop Introduction to DSLR/Mirrorless and Macro Photography. The workshop is free and all are welcome to attend.
On April 13, artist Tim Summerville will be at the Meadowbrook Park Interpretive Center from Noon - 3 p.m. Summerville will talk about his newest and popular sculpture Life on the Prairie, currently on display at Meadowbrook Park. Learn more about this popular piece and how Summerville does his work with welded steel.
Finally, people can take in the nature art show by Jeremy Kagel, entitled Collections of an Unseen World, currently on display at Anita Purves Nature Center. This art show is up through the end of May.
