Do you have a child who likes soccer? Urbana Park District has several soccer options for people this spring.
Sharkey's Soccer is for people ages 4 - 6. The program runs March 31 - May 15. Register for a Monday/Wednesday session, or a Tuesday/Thursday session. Everyone gets a free t-shirt and all kids participate. Shin guards are required. Kids will learn soccer skills, teamwork, rules and a modified ball and field. Sign up by March 17 for an early bird discount - $28 for residents and $40 for non-residents.
Spring Outdoor Youth Soccer runs March 24 - May 17. Again, people can sign up for a Monday/Wednesday session or a Tuesday/Thursday session. Games are on Saturday. Youth soccer is for people in grades 1 - 9. All kids participate. Players learn sportsmanship, rules, strategy, soccer skills and have some fun. Shin guards are required.

Spring Outdoor Youth Soccer
Players learn rules, soccer skills, and the value of teamwork and sportsmanship in a fun environment. All teams are coached by volunteer coaches and soccer games are played on Saturdays. Sign up for your preference of practice site. Depending upon enrollment, teams may be combined, and you may not receive your first choice. If you are switched to a different location, you will be contacted by the Park District. Strikers Boys & Girls, Middle School Boys & Girls leagues play with the Champaign Park District, and will play most games at Brookens/Prairie Fields or Dodds Soccer Complex in Champaign. Every child must wear an Urbana Park District reversible jersey, blue and gold for games. Stop by the Health and Wellness Center, 2002 E Washington Street, to purchase one for $16. Every child must wear shin guards purchased personally.
Sharkey's Spring 2025 Soccer
The games are fun and exciting, and the practices build teamwork and basic soccer skills. The rules, field, and ball are modified to meet Pre-K & kindergartener's size and abilities. Everyone gets a T-shirt and everyone participates. All coaches are volunteers. You may be asked to bring snacks to practices and games.
