Urbana Park District debuts new website

Urbana Park District is debuting a new-look, more accessible website today. The website address is still the same – www.urbanaparks.org.

Purei, from Batavia, Illinois, developed the website and will host the website for the park district.

“The new website will be more user-friendly and engaging,” said Mark Schultz, Public Information and Marketing Manager. He added, “We hope people will find programs, classes, and camps easier and find it easier to register at the park district.”

The park district was determined to make their website more accessible. “There is a button on the website that will help people read and navigate urbanaparks.org, in an easier way. Click on the little wheel chair graphic at the bottom right of the homepage and people can adjust the screen in order to read our website easier,” Schultz explained. He continued, “Push that same button and people can change languages and read the website in their native language. We are excited that the new website will help break down barriers.”

Today is the first day of the new website. “We are working with Purei on this rollout and we are monitoring the website in case there are any bugs to work out. We hope people will enjoy this new website and can feel a closer connection to Urbana Park District,” Schultz concluded.
