The Urbana Park District Board of Commissioners is looking to fill a board vacancy.
The new commissioner will be appointed by the remaining board of commissioners. The appointed commissioner would serve until the April 6, 2027, general election, and then they would run to be elected for the remaining four years of the term.
A candidate for commissioner needs to live within park district boundaries and to meet all other requirements by law.
The Board of Commissioners meets the first Tuesday of the month for a study session and the second Tuesday of the month for a business meeting.
The board sets policy and objectives for Urbana Park District.

The board will select up to three finalists to interview at the September 1, study session. The selected applicant will be approved by the board and seated at the September 8, 2026, regular business meeting.
