In honor of Active Aging Week, Urbana Park District is offering Zumba Gold for free, for everyone over age 50.
Weather permitting, Zumba Gold will be at the Meadowbrook Park Garden Pavilion (off the Race Street parking lot), on October 6 and October 8, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
The class is limited to the first 45 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
“This class and format will be very welcoming to all ability levels regardless of your fitness level or experience with the Zumba formats,” said Elsie Hedgspeth, Outreach and Wellness Manager.
The class will introduce people to easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Zumba also improves cardiovascular and muscle fitness.
“We hope that people will leave our Zumba Gold classes confident, knowing that fitness can be fun,” Hedgspeth added.
“People age 50 and better belong at Urbana Park District fitness programs, and we look forward to seeing full Zumba Gold classes,” she commented.
