Counselor-in-Training (CIT)

Experience camp from the leader's point of view and bring your own energy and talents to the Urbana Park District's summer camps. Participate in and lead daily camp activities while assisting counselors and campers in Summer Day Camps. You will volunteer 15-20 hours per week, attend weekly CIT meetings and participate in ongoing training throughout the summer. Candidates are selected through an application and interview process. Space is limited. Fee includes camp T-shirt, all training, supervision and field trips for the entire day camp season. Payment is due on acceptance into the program.

Nature Day Camp: Wild Child Survival Camp

In this adventure-based outdoor camp, your camper will learn skills that promote independence and critical thinking like building campfire and debris shelters, creating and using tools, and identifying dangers in the wilderness. Campers can also enjoy swimming and other general recreation activities during the week. Drop off will be from 7:30-8:30am. Campers should bring a water bottle, lunch, and sturdy clothing that can get dirty. Each camper receives a Nature Day Camp T-shirt.

This option is for Wild Child Survival Camp regular pickup time of 2:30-3:00pm.

Prices increase on May 13 from Early Bird rates to Regular rates.

Travel around town to see what Urbana-Champaign has to offer while hanging out with old and new friends! Each day will feature different games and activities. You’ll ride the MTD to our field trip locations. All movies rated G or PG. Be sure to bring your swimsuit, sunscreen, and towel each day- we may get very messy and wet! Please bring a lunch, but a snack will be provided. Any days when Urbana School District classes are still in session, camp will be canceled.
