Kids ages 13 – 15 (completion of 7th grade required), are encouraged to learn camp leadership skills this summer in the park district’s Counselor in Training (CIT) program.

Experience camp from the leader’s point of view. CITs will participate in and lead daily activities and assist counselors during the Nature Day Camp. CITs will volunteer 15 – 20 hours per week, three days a week.

The Counselors in Training will set goals for success, attend weekly CIT meetings and reflect on experiences while growing personally and professionally.

It costs $360 to join the program. The park district has scholarship assistance available for families.

Call Chelsea Prahl at (217) 367-1544 for more information and to get a CIT application.

Prahl commented, “Our hope is that CITs have a fun summer as a part of the Urbana Park District team while getting to know the campers, fellow CITs and maybe learn more about themselves.”
