Everyone is welcome to get down at the free Ukulele Jam each Wednesday at Phillips Recreation Center. The jam runs from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
“We welcome all ages and skill levels. Our group plays beginner-friendly songs,” said Jacob Johnston, Community Program and Engagement Coordinator.
Participants sit in a large circle and take turns choosing songs out of the song book. “You can pass on selecting a song if you wish. We use a ukulele song book, but people can bring sheet music to share,” Johnston explained.
There’s no registration required. “Just stop on by,” Johnston said.
Johnston concluded, “The Champaign-Urbana Ukulele Jam is a fun, community-building event. Come out, play some fun music and make some new, lasting friendships.”
