The weather is getting cooler, but you can still enjoy a swim at Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center (UIAC) this fall.

UIAC fall hours start on September 8.

“We will be open for lap swim, swimming lessons, water aerobics classes, and open swim seven days a week,” said Leslie Radice, Aquatics Manager.

The schedule is:

  • Lap swim; Monday – Friday, 6-8 a.m., and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Public swim; Monday - Friday, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Public Swim; Saturday, 12 – 5 p.m.
  • Public Swim; Sunday, 2 – 7 p.m.

These hours could be subject to change if there is a swim meet at the pool or if there are staffing issues. Be sure to follow Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center on Facebook and Twitter, in case there are any changes in hours.

“The locker rooms, changing rooms and shower rooms will be open and, for now, there are no capacity restrictions,” Radice added.

People will need to wear masks when not swimming.

It costs $6 to swim, $3 for people to enter but not swim. Admission is $4 on Thursdays. And, kids under age three are admitted for free every day.

“Everyone is invited to our indoor pool this fall, for open swim, lap swim, or aquatics classes,” Radice said. “Also, be on the lookout for some special events at the pool,” she concluded.
