Urbana Park District extends closures and cancellations through April 30

In accordance with the governor’s COVID-19 stay-at-home extension, Urbana Park District buildings are closed and all events, rentals and programs are canceled through April 30.

Urbana Park District walking trails and natural areas are open; however playground equipment, basketball courts and tennis courts are closed to the public.

Park district leadership is working closely with the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District, who is following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on what should be open and what should be closed.

For the safety of everyone, especially our park district grounds personnel, please throw away all trash, including animal waste from your pets. Urbana Park District needs everyone’s help in keeping our parks clean and sanitary.

Park district staff continues to work from home through April 30. If you have any questions, please call (217) 367-1544, leave a message and someone will return your call and help you.

In addition to social distance guidelines, help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and observe CDC recommendations:

1. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

2. Stay home when you are sick.

3. Cough or sneeze into our elbow.

4. Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds.

5. Use hand sanitizer.

6. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.

7. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home and at work.
