Urbana Park District and the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District are partnering to provide meals to kids this summer.
The Summer Meal Program will run every Tuesday and Thursday through August 8.
People can get meals at:
People can get a meal from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
“For some kids, school lunches are the only constant meal they get,” said Elsie Hedgspeth, Outreach and Wellness Coordinator. “When summer vacation starts, those meals go away. The Summer Meal Program helps step into the gap,” she added.
Urbana Park District will provide games and other fun activities during lunch time.
People can find out more about the program on the public health Facebook page.
“We welcome everyone to Crestview Park every Tuesday and Victory Park every Thursday this summer for a good meal and a fun time,” Hedgspeth said.
