The Developmental Services Center (DSC) is recognizing Urbana Park District with the Leaders in Employing All People (LEAP) Champion Award.

In recognizing Urbana Park District, Stephanie Davenport, LEAP Coordinator at DSC noted, "In the spring of 2017, Urbana Park District completed their first LEAP training and have since gone on to embrace disability-inclusive practices, including participating in a LEAP focus group last November." Davenport continued, "They were the recipient of one of the Disability Resource Expo's employer awards last fall, and today they completed a second step LEAP training with their hiring supervisors. We want to take this opportunity to recognize them for their achievements."

Alexandra Ivanova, Human Resources Coordinator at the Park District commented, "We are committed to making Urbana Park District accessible to everyone, and that includes those looking for a job." She concluded, "The community wins when everyone is disability-inclusive."
