September 21-29 is national Take a Child Outside Week, and Urbana Park District is offering several programs to encourage families to get outside and experience nature.

"The weather this week is promising and you belong outside and at Urbana Park District parks," said Judy Miller, Environmental Programs Manager. "We have several free events this week for families."

Some events include:

• Events at Anita Purves Nature Center’s Nature Play area
• Hikes through Busey Woods
• Bird watching
• Family friendly yoga hike
• Full moon stroll and roll
• A bug hunt
• Fireside stories
• Outdoor movie night
