Warmer spring temperatures and rainfall means quickly growing grass. Many factors affect the mowing rotation at Urbana’s parks--the most obvious one being the increased growth rate that spring weather brings. Other factors include the extra time it takes to mow tall, wet grass. There are times when we simply can’t mow due to significant rainfall and the soft ground conditions the rain leaves behind. The extreme growth will slow down as we move closer to summer. As the weather dries, the parks will look more like what we’ve all come to expect.
