Kids and adults can learn about nature and animals as part of their birthday celebration. Anita Purves Nature Center is offering a Zoom with the Animals Birthday Party programs, in lieu of in person parties during the covid-19 pandemic.

“Each program is 60 minutes long and is designed for children ages 6-12 years old,” said Savannah Donovan, Environmental Public Program Coordinator. She added, “Kids will get an opportunity to see their friends online and share the experience of meeting the nature center's education wildlife including a screech owl, box turtles, a toad and one or more snakes.”

Kids watching get to see the animals up close via Zoom, and learn about their environment. “Programs may include a turtle race or animal feeding experience,” Donovan added.

The program costs $25 and can be scheduled by request. Contact Donovan by email at sydonovan@urbanaparks.org.

“We look forward to sharing nature with kids, even if they can’t be here in person,” Donovan said.
