Own a Ukulele? Then you’ll want to go to Urbana Park District’s Phillips Recreation Center Wednesdays this fall for the Champaign-Urbana Ukulele Jam.
“Every Wednesday from September 1 through December 8, we will have a Ukulele Jam,” said Jacob Johnston, Community Program and Engagement Coordinator. The jam runs from 5:30 – 7 p.m.
“We welcome all ages and skill levels. Our group plays beginner-friendly songs,” Johnston added.
Participants sit in a large circle and take turns choosing songs out of the song book. “You can pass on selecting a song if you wish. We use a ukulele song book, but people can bring sheet music to share,” Johnston explained.
There’s no registration required. “Just stop on by,” Johnston said.
Johnston concluded, “The Champaign-Urbana Ukulele Jam is a fun, community-building event. Come out, play some fun music and make some new, lasting friendships.”
