The Planning and Operations facility is located on the east half of Chief Shemauger Park and was opened in 2012. The facility houses the District’s Planning, Facilities, Grounds, Aquatics, and Natural Areas Divisions. All of the District’s vehicles as well as a variety of park maintenance equipment are stored at this facility.
The Planning and Operations facility is home to numerous District meetings. Monthly Board Meetings, Board Study Sessions, Urbana Park District Advisory Committee (UPDAC) Meetings, and Urbana Parks Foundation Meetings are all held here.
