January 16 is World Snow Day. Urbana Park District will mark the day by kicking off a contest in our parks.
People will make a paper snow person. “The Park District will send out various locations in our parks,” said Tyler Janczak, Mobile Recreation Supervisor. “Once at the location, they can take a selfie of themselves and their snow person,” he added.
There will be a total of 8 park district locations.
If people need card stock or scissors, there are supplies available at Phillips Recreation Center.
“Those selfies emailed to info@urbanaparks.org will be compiled into a photo montage, which will be featured on district social media” Janczak explained.
People have until February 28 to complete the challenge. Email Janczak at tnjanczak@urbanaparks.org with any questions.
“This is a fun way to get out to our parks, explore winter beauty, and shake up the winter blues,” Janczak said. “Everyone is welcome to participate.”
