The Urbana Park District and the Champaign County Camera Club invite all amateur photographers to enter their best prints into the 19th annual Best in Show Photographic Print Competition.
“People can enter at the early-bird rate until January 22 at 6pm,” said Janet Soesbe, Community Program Manager. “Photographers can enter at the regular rate until 6 pm on January 29.”
The rates are:
- Early Bird entry fee - $5 for first print and $3 for the next four
- Regular entry fee after January 22 - $10 for the first print and $3 for the next four
“We also encourage youth to enter their photos in a special Youth Category at no cost,” Soesbe added.
There is a five-photo limit across 8 different subjects including Nature, Architecture, People, and Black & White. Entrants must mount their photos on 3/16” thick foamcore measuring 11” by 14” and turn them in at the Phillips Recreation Center.
People can print off entry forms at UrbanaParks.org. They can also call Soesbe at (217) 367-1544 ext. 277 for more information.
“This is a great opportunity for amateur photographers to publicly exhibit their photos and have them professionally judged. All are welcome and we hope to see new entrants,” Soesbe concluded.
