Exercise your body and mind this fall with Urbana Park District yoga classes

Urbana Park District is offering several yoga options for people of all abilities this fall.

The park district is offering:

“Yoga for Every Body is for all people regardless of age, ability or flexibility,” said Elsie Hedgspeth, Outreach and Wellness Manager. “Each class is tailored to meet student needs.”

“Get Fit Where You Sit teaches participants to do yoga exercises while seated in a chair. Chair yoga is a great way to get the blood flowing after a long stretch of sitting at the desk,” Hedgspeth explained.

“We offer Sunday Soul Flow on select Sundays at The Lake House at Crystal Lake Park,” said Ashley Dennis, Outreach and Wellness Coordinator. She added, “These self-care inspired yoga sessions are the perfect outlet to get one’s mind and body in the right place just before the work week.”

All yoga classes follow park district covid-19 safety guidelines.

People can register for the yoga classes online in the links above, or they can call Urbana Park District at (217) 367-1544 to register or if they have more questions.

“Anyone can do yoga,” Hedgspeth said. “All are welcome and belong in our classes.”
