If you have a child age 2 – 12 that is interested in ballet, Urbana Park District has the class for you!
On Saturdays in September and October, the park district will host ballet classes at Phillips Recreation Center.
The Teeny Ballereenies classes feature two year olds, ages 3 – 4 and 4 – 5, then Youth/Continuing Ballet is for kids ages 6 – 12.
Classes are each Saturday starting September 18 through October 23.
Register by September 11.
Matthew Lewis, Community Program Coordinator, commented, “Students learn how to perform different ballet exercises and dances through a series of creative and physical concepts taught in classes by an instructor with years of experience. With the youngest group (Age 2), children learn with their adults about different dancing techniques that can be used as they progress throughout the classes.”
This is a safe space for kids to explore ballet. “No special outfit is required. Participants can wear comfortable moveable clothing and footwear,” Lewis added.
“All kids are welcome to explore ballet this fall,” Lewis concluded.
